Sustainability: What is real?

In our Sustainability Review 2025, we show a clear transition from old to new, a shift in how we view the world and our own impact on it. At the heart of this transition lies a fundamental question: what is truly real?

We live in a time when we often unconsciously choose the polished presentation whether it is filters on our social profiles, that perfectly shiny lemon in the supermarket, or a news story driven more by its newsworthiness than by its actual content.

Yet the end result rarely says much about the true quality or practical value of what lies beneath.

The question behind the compliment

Now that we have completed the ESG Magazine and I am sharing it with my colleagues, I notice an interesting divide in the reactions. Some people flip through it and enthusiastically say, “Looks great, what a fantastic initiative!” Others take a more critical view and ask, “But is everything in here actually accurate?”

ESG beyond the buzzwords

That skepticism is not only healthy, it is entirely justified. Let's be honest: the term ESG still carries a certain stigma in many circles. It is a world where powerful buzzwords sometimes come with an expiration date, and where you can no longer simply claim to be “green” without solid evidence to back it up. Today, we also see a growing tendency to say nothing at all. This is often referred to as greenhushing; in the United States, a similar phenomenon is sometimes described as greenblushing.

The power of healthy skepticism

The critical questions raised by our colleagues help keep us sharp. They steer us away from far less attractive concepts such as greenwashing or greenlighting and challenge us to remain factual, compliant, and transparent. As mentioned earlier, legislation will increasingly enforce this as well, but fostering that dialogue internally is simply a better approach.

What ESG Means at Logicall

In 2023, during dozens of stakeholder analysis interviews conducted as part of the CSRD process, one thing became very clear: what exactly does ESG mean at Logicall? That observation was very real—and so was the answer we were able to give ourselves. The destination had not yet been fully defined, but the direction certainly had.

A realistic and authentic signal

This magazine is therefore intended to provide a well-founded response to that question. Together with the new ecoLogicall webpage, greater insight into our targets and performance metrics, and regular updates on our results and progress, we aim to send a realistic and authentic signal.

That is our claim.
